The European supervisory authorities of the financial sector published on 20 July a Q & A document on the Key Information Document (KID). Established by the European regulation “PRIIPs” 1286/2014 entered into force on January 1, 2018, the KID must be given by the distributors, prior to the subscription of a life insurance product.

It aims to inform the non-professional investor about the costs, returns and risks associated with underwriting, as well as about other features of the product, “in clear and understandable language”, and in a standardized format to facilitate comparisons.
